Dear Welgevonden Estate Homeowners and Residents
Winston Churchill once said: “We make a living by what we get. But we make a life by what we give.”
An opportunity to give
Estate management has become aware of areas of need in Cloetesville – Welgevonden Estate’s next door neighbourhood – and is initiating a coordinated opportunity for Welgevonden Estate residents who wish to help to make a difference. Right now, we are looking for blankets (all kinds – old or new) to donate for those in need.
Huis Ebenaeser, a place of care for more than 100 senior citizens in Cloetesville, has been identified as a centre that will benefit from our initiative. With winter still with us, we invite Welgevonden Estate residents to donate blankets to keep those most vulnerable warm during the cold.
Drop-off point: Please deliver your contribution to the estate office (R44 entrance) between 10:00 and 16:00 on weekdays.
Closing date: We are planning to hand deliver the blankets to Huis Ebenaeser during the week of 7 August 2023. We, therefore, would appreciate your donation before 7 August.
Future initiatives
We’re planning continued support for other service organisations in our neighbouring community, especially during the winter months. Welgevonden Estate residents will therefore have more opportunities to also make other donations until September. For the month of August, for example, we will be collecting tinned food, and for September, children’s clothing.
Please join in!
This Welgevonden Estate community initiative will go a long way towards helping those who are less fortunate, and we invite all residents to contribute towards this good cause.
Best regards
Gawie Marx

We will also share news regarding Arbor week 2023, and news on the Garden-of-the-Year competition to be launched on 1 September.
