Dear Welgevonden Estate Homeowners and Residents
"The best way to predict the future is to create it."
These inspiring words from Peter Drucker, the renowned American management consultant and author, serve as a powerful reminder of the collective ability we have to shape the future. As we step into 2025, we are excited about the many opportunities ahead and look forward to working together to create an even better tomorrow for Welgevonden Estate!
Looking ahead: Exciting ventures for 2025!
As always, Excom and estate management are committed to supporting the ongoing development of Welgevonden Estate, guided by the trust and mandate you, our homeowners and residents, have placed in us.
Reflecting on the past holiday season
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the festive season on Welgevonden Estate so special. Your contributions made the season enjoyable and peaceful for all. We are especially grateful to our security team for ensuring a secure environment with no security-related incidents. We also want to acknowledge the residents who beautifully decorated their homes and gardens, adding a festive spirit to the estate!
We also had the pleasure of hosting the Welgevonden Christmas Carols 2024, a magical evening under the full moon on 14 December. Thank you to the incredible volunteer organising committee, all of whom are Welgevonden Estate residents: Warren Joubert, Salomie Botha, Sterna Muller, Esmari van Rensburg, Candice Loubscher, Monique Ackerman and Tanita van Rensburg.

A warm welcome to new residents
A very warm welcome to all the new residents of Welgevonden Estate! We hope you’ll quickly feel at home and enjoy all that our wonderful community has to offer.
As a reminder, the estate is managed in accordance with the Welgevonden Home Owners’ Association (WHOA) constitution, rules and other guidelines. Please familiarise yourself with the relevant rules and regulations by visiting the WHOA section on the Welgevonden Estate website. If you have any questions, the estate office is always here to help at admin@welgevonden.co.za.
Important parking notice
We would like to remind residents that Welgevonden Estate has limited public parking available. To ensure fair access to parking, strict measures are in place, and residents are asked to park only on their own properties. Please refrain from parking in public areas or on pavements unless you have a special permit. For more information, click here.
Resident parking permits: Monthly fee increased
Excom hereby gives notice in accordance with Clause 59A.1.3 of the Welgevonden Home Owners’ Association Constitution, that the monthly fee for resident parking permits will increase from R300 to R350 (the first increase in five years), effective 1 February 2025.
A reminder for all permit holders: Parking permits must be renewed annually. The renewal period for 2025 is now open. Please visit the estate office at the R44 entrance to complete your renewal and collect your new permit.
Welgevonden Park development
Exciting news! The development of Welgevonden Park, an integrated leisure and lifestyle facility on Welgevonden Estate, is officially underway! Following final approval at the WHOA AGM in November 2024, building plans have been submitted to the Stellenbosch Municipality for approval. The project team, alongside Excom members, already had their first meeting earlier this week. We will update members regularly in future newsletters!
Children’s safety at the Welgevonden dam
A friendly reminder to all parents: Minors must always be under adult supervision when at the Welgevonden dam. We’ve observed instances of children on floating devices, venturing into deeper areas without adult oversight. For safety, we encourage children to wear life jackets when swimming, rowing, or using inflatables in the water.
Additionally, a bicycle stand has been installed at the dam gate. Please use it to park bicycles to avoid obstructing others who are using the dam facilities.
Little Kickers preschool soccer classes
We're excited to announce that Little Kickers, a foundational soccer programme for young children, will continue to offer classes on the estate in 2025. Little Kickers provides a fun and engaging way for children aged 18 months to 8 years to develop fitness and skills. Classes are held on Wednesdays at 15:00 and Saturdays at 09:00 on the level area above the children’s play park located at the top of Welgevonden Estate’s main green belt.

Conclusion
We look forward to an exciting year ahead and encourage everyone to stay involved, stay safe, and continue making Welgevonden Estate a wonderful place to call home!
Best regards
